A man-of-the-match display from forward Scott Adams helped Buckie record an excellent victory over previously unbeaten Huntly at Victoria Park.
Adams put the Jags ahead just beyond the half-hour mark, then Max Barry made it two before the break. Darryl McHardy wrapped up the win with a header midway through the second half.
Huntly were first to threaten in the fourth minute, captain Alex Thoirs crossing from the right and Lyall Booth climbing well at the far post to plant a header off the crossbar, then a minute later Euan Storrier made a good save from a blistering 20-yard strike from Robbie Foster.
Seventeen minutes in, lovely skill from Adams in the penalty area created space for a rising drive that was pushed up and onto the crossbar by Fraser Hobday.
A superb delivery from Jack MacIver was then just missed by Josh Peters and McHardy in the six-yard box, before Ryan Fyffe made a vital headed clearance at the other end to keep it goalless.
Storrier denied Foster again after a great run forward by the Huntly wide man on 27 minutes, with new boy Isaac Evans' effort from the rebound blocked by the backtracking MacIver.
Three minutes later Adams and MacAskill (twice) were denied by defensive blocks as the game swung from end to end, Jack Murray just failing to connect with the resulting corner from MacIver.
Buckie finally made the breakthrough in the 34th minute, MacAskill's superb through ball was headed on by Peters to Adams, and he kept his composure to round Hobday and sweep the ball low into the left hand corner of the net.
Four minutes later MacAskill's corner was bundled across goal and after McHardy's effort was blocked, Max Barry pounced to slam home the second from close range.
Eight minutes after the break, Jack Murray was unlucky with a superb header from MacAskill's cross that came crashing off the junction of post and crossbar.
Two minutes later MacIver rifled a 22-yard free kick just beyond the far post with Hobday beaten, then MacAskill should have grabbed the .
third but he slotted into the side netting after a great one-two with Peters.
Number three did soon arrive, Adams doing well on the right and his cross to the far post was headed firmly into the net by McHardy via the despairing Hobday.
The home side kept the ball well in the remaining twenty minutes, MacAskill driving an effort straight at Hobday late on, but it ended in a three-goal win for the hosts.
Next up is a trip to Keith in the Quarter Finals of the Highland League Cup on Saturday 9th September.
