Buckie Thistle's mercurial number 10 Andrew MacAskill is to retire from playing at the end of the season.
Andy has been at Victoria Park since December 2017, joining the Jags from Holland Park Hawks in Australia. His previous clubs include Turriff United, Keith and Inverness Caley Thistle.
The Aberdeen native had this to say about his career in the Highland League:
“I have decided to retire from playing football.
It has been a privilege to be part of the Highland League community and to represent fantastic clubs filled with good people, who dedicate so much time to the towns they come from.
Thank you to each of my managers and coaches for their patience, guidance, and the belief they have shown in me.
Thank you to all of my teammates for the laughs we’ve shared and the memories we’ve created together.
Lastly, thank you to all of the fans for their support and encouragement. It has been great to meet and get to know so many of you.”
Andrew
MacAskill’s final game for the Jags will be against his former team Keith at Victoria Park on the 12th of April.
Let’s give him the send off he deserves Buckie fans!
