Buckie Thistle won an impressive fourth game in eight days by hitting six past Strathspey at Victoria Park.
The victory brings Jags level on points with league leaders Brechin, four goals behind the Angus men on goal difference.
Josh Peters missed out through injury after rolling his ankle early on against Deveronvale on Saturday. Andrew MacAskill returned to the starting eleven, with Lyall Keir moving up front.
The home side were looking for a fast start and got one with a goal after just 30 seconds. Joe McCabe played an excellent ball in behind for Max Barry, and he crashed a deflected shot high past Kit Fletcher at his near post.
The Jags soon made it two, Andrew MacAskill’s cross bouncing off the crossbar and eventually laid off by Jack MacIver for Marcus Goodall to blast home from 20 yards via a deflection that wrongfooted Fletcher.
The visitors pulled one back midway through the first half, Owen Loveland producing a clever backheeled finish from close range after Alan Kerr had headed down a corner from the right.
McCabe was involved again in goal number three for the homesters, his header to the far post finished off by Lyall Keir to restore Jags’ two-goal lead at the break.
The marauding McCabe then headed over from a MacAskill corner early in the second half, as Buckie looked for a fourth.
Thistle boss Graeme Stewart moved defender Jack Murray forward in search of further goals, and Murray came up trumps in the 71st minute, volleying a superb scissors kick past Fletcher after the ball broke to him 12 yards out.
Substitute Sam Morrison headed powerfully into the net from a MacAskill corner on 85 minutes, before Murray completed the scoring in injury time, climbing above Fletcher to head in number six in injury time.
The win sets up the final two matches of the season nicely, with Brechin heading to Kynoch Park to take on Keith on Tuesday night, before Buckie play a quick return fixture at Strathspey on Wednesday evening.
